For i nstance in this film , Diaz takes the mickey out of festiva l programm ers and al so sketches a picture o f himse lf that i s not entire ly free from self-mocke ry. The f ilm has t wo or three st ories (also a f ilm in the fi lm) and one of them focuses on the filmmake r Homer, wh o very much r esembles Lav Diaz himself. Th e tortured film maker wr estles with completing his film. Despite pleas fro m those ar ound him and fr om eager progr ammers, he cont inues to ref use to reg ard his f ilm as fi nished. Alongs ide the story about a nu n in the fil m on whi ch Home r is workin g, there’s another sto ry about t he religiou s leader Father Turbico . Turbico leads a sect in the countrysid e that is pr imarily made u p of young wom en. When one of the women want s to leave the sect, a d ramatic situ ation ens ues. By telling the stories in paralle l, similariti es become vi sible between Homer’s strugg le with cinema and Turbico& ;#39;s struggl e with fai th.详情
